If you’re using an Elementor Template Kit, your Blog Archive page (the page that lists your blog posts) may not automatically display correctly until you designate it as the default “Posts Page” in WordPress and apply the correct Elementor template.
Follow these steps carefully to ensure your blog archive displays as intended.
Step 1: Create or Identify Your Blog Page
1. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Pages > All Pages.
2. If a page called Blog already exists, you can use it. If not, click Add New.
3. Title the page Blog (or any name you prefer) and do not add any content inside the editor.
4. Click Publish.
Step 2: Set the Blog Page as the Default “Posts Page”
1. Go to Settings > Reading in the WordPress dashboard.
2. Under Your homepage displays, select A static page.
3. Choose your homepage from the Homepage dropdown.
4. Choose your Blog page (the one you just created) from the Posts page dropdown.
5. Click Save Changes.
This tells WordPress that all blog posts should display on that page.
Step 3: Assign or Create the Blog Archive Template in Elementor
1. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Templates > Theme Builder.
2. Click on the Archive tab.
3. If your Template Kit includes a Blog Archive template, click Add New, choose Archive, then select your desired template from the Template Kit and click Insert.
4. When Elementor asks whether you want to Apply Settings, choose Apply Settings.
Why: Applying the settings ensures that the layout, spacing, colors, and typography match the rest of your Template Kit. If you choose “Don’t Apply,” the template may look misaligned or styled differently than the rest of your site.
5. Once inserted, you can customize the layout as needed, then click Publish.
Step 4: Set Display Conditions for the Archive Template
1. After editing your Archive template, click the small arrow next to Publish in Elementor.
2. Select Display Conditions.
3. Choose Include → All Archives, or specifically select Post Archive if you only want it to apply to the main blog.
4. Click Save & Close.
This ensures Elementor displays your chosen template on the Blog Archive page.
Step 5: Verify the Page
1. Visit your website and navigate to the Blog page you set earlier.
2. You should now see your posts displayed using the Elementor Archive template.
3. If you don’t see the correct layout, clear your site and browser cache, then refresh the page.
Optional: Adjust Blog Layout or Post Settings
• To change the number of posts per page, go to Settings > Reading and adjust Blog pages show at most.
• To edit individual post designs, open a post in Elementor (if supported by your theme).
• For global styling changes, adjust them within the Site Settings panel in Elementor.
